A lovely workspace
The first time I had the chance to see James Blake performing live was on Optimus Alive ’11 a couple of months ago. It was his first time on portuguese soil. And what a debut it was… His brilliant concert made us wanting more.
Last night he returned to Portugal as part of Vodafone Mexefest‘s lineup for this year. This was his second time on Portugal and, for the second time, there I was, ready for some more James Blake. The show completely blew away the crowd that waited in line for so much time to enter the venue, including myself.
Using the lyrics of “Limit To Your Love”, the show really sounded “like a waterfall in slow motion…”, just awesome!
I’ll sure keep an eye out for his future returns for more shows.

I instantly had the urge to listen to Stealers Wheal’s “Stuck in the middle with you”:

The Gentleman Shaver
Just found out this delightful short film on Vimeo. It’s directed by Ben Briand for BBDO New York. It follows the classic comic style from the silent film era.
It’s really worth a watch, very funny.

Lessons from Jobs
“Experts—journalists, analysts, consultants, bankers, and gurus can’t “do” so they “advise”. They can tell you what is wrong with your product, but they cannot make a great one. They can tell you how to sell something, but they cannot sell it themselves. They can tell you how to create great teams, but they only manage a secretary. For example, the experts told us that the two biggest shortcomings of Macintosh in the mid 1980s was the lack of a daisy-wheel printer driver and Lotus 1-2-3; another advice gem from the experts was to buy Compaq. Hear what experts say, but don’t always listen to them.”

“ We don’t get a chance to do that many things, and every one should be really excellent.
Because this is our life. Life is brief, and then you die, you know?
And we’ve all chosen to do this with our lives.
So it better be damn good. It better be worth it. “
